Hi everyone! I hope everything is well. I’m so excited to share you guys some new info about healthy food trends. There is this new trend going on for those health craze out there, in leading a healthy lifestyle through a healthy diet. Nowadays, everyone is getting into the habit of being healthy in order to feel better. Personally for myself being healthy is crucial as we can feel happier and less crankier too! Being healthy means it includes regular exercise as well at the same time. Below I will explain to you guys about latest 10 trends that is going on now:

AVOIDING GLUTEN

This is not just for those who are gluten sensitive, but gluten-free foods are so popular and mainstream. Several reasons are because mainly people want to feel healthier, next is due to the presence of celiac disease and lastly is because they want to lose weight. Glutens are mainly in cookies, breads and snacks. This trend is not wrong however personally in my opinion gluten is still needed but always remembers to keep everything in balance.

PLANT-BASED DIETS

Recently the plant-based food trend is getting hotter and hotter. There are a lot of beneficials which are keeping your health at maximum for example seaweed which is high in iodine as such, it is good for your thyroid and according to credible researchers, seaweed can reduce the rate of fat absorption by 75%.  You can do this little by little by substituting your regular mayonnaise to a better option such as avocado based mayonnaise into your sandwich or making a kale chips.

HEALTHY OILS

To be honest, I’ve consuming this type of healthy oil option since 5 years ago, and I’ve seen so much improvement, for me I’m using grapeseed oil, not only low in fat percentage but it is so much healthier and have this amazing fruity taste. There are so much option to choose from these days, such as avocado oil, macadamia oils, coconut oils. You can even use it for stir frying, or even on your salad, which means it is very versatile too!

HEALTHY SNACKS

We all have problem on food binging or our love for sweet desserts especially females, therefore nowadays there are a lot of varieties of healthy snacks to choose from. Which means we can eat it without the feeling of being guilty afterwards. Snacks like kale chips, caffeinated jerky and roasted chickpeas are trendy now. Nuts and fruits are great too and also snack bars are great too as a way to curb our hunger after our heavy exercise.

NONDAIRY MILK

Dairy substitutions are coming from all sorts of sources, they all has their own benefits and bad benefits for the consumers. It’s not just almond milk. Most certainly, nowadays, in the supermarket you must have seen a whole variety of milks, which came from every nut, grain and seed. This type of milk is more humane as it reduces the rate of animal products and vegan and environmental friendly too. Sadly, its nutrients are not as much as a cow’s milk.

PROTEIN OPTIONS
Proteins doesn’t always come from animal, there are heaps of varieties to choose from, personally for myself I get sick of eating proteins came from animals, my favourite is tofu or this thing called tempeh which is came from soy beans, its benefits actually could almost beat protein from beef and on a bright side, it is so delicious as well! It can be cooked almost in every type of dishes or snack on them too. Unexpectedly, watermelon seeds are an excellent source of protein, magnesium, and zinc. Moreover, cottage cheese is also really great as a cheese substitute as they are low in fat but high in protein.

THE POWER OF SEEDS & NUTS

To be honest, I’m a big fan of almonds and pistachios, on a bright side it takes significantly fewer resources to produce them compared to animal based products. According to credible researchers, it helps in improving weight problem in adolescents. Eventhough it is much healthier, seeds and nuts have their own recommended dietary servings in order to release its benefits subsequently. Most of my friends who exercise on a regular base, they all consumer seeds and nuts as pre or post workout snacks due to its practicality and easy to go snack.

NATURAL BEVERAGES

For caffeine lovers, black tea or coffee has always been their cup of tea and so popular, from where I live, at every angle of a block, there’re few coffee shops that’s just show how popular they are as a beverage. Additionally, since its popularity, there’re other sources of caffeine going around and they’re apparently proved to be a natural choice of caffeine, such as Yerba mate which is a stimulant sourced from rainforest trees, next is Guayasa which has a lower percentage of caffeine. On the other side, matcha is so popular in Asian countries such as Japan and China moreover it is high in antioxidants and since it’s so mainstream, you could order a matcha latte at Starbucks®.

 GREEK YOGHURTS/ PROBIOTICS

Most of you must have heard greek yoghurt, as it is so mainstream we can find it almost anywhere in every shopping malls or every shopping districts they all sold as a desserts with fruits or cookies as a toppings. Bulgarians, Greeks and Icelanders make great yoghurts as they all have a common passion in creating it. Due to its higher amount of nutrients and less sugar, greek yoghurts takes up ore shelf space in a supermarket compared to a standard yoghurts. Interesting fact, Icelandic doesn’t call it as yoghurt rather called as “Icelandic-style skyr” as it contains real fruits and its cow is grassfed. As such, Bulgarians yoghurt is unstrained therefore it has higher amount of probiotics and more natural derived as well. How is it such a big deal though? According to much credible researches, probiotic helps to fight against bad microorganism that live in our body and helps to digest lactose.

These food trends are so mainstream, it is super easy to find them almost at anywhere. It doesn’t matter what kind of eater you are, as long you have the motivation to eat healthy, it is never impossible to lead a healthy lifestyle. You’ll soon see its benefits by eating healthy on a regular basis. Well we have reached to my last blog post, I hope you guys enjoyed it as I have enjoyed creating all of them :) Stay healthy guys!!

Claudia
