Body shapes at a glance
Hey y’all hope you guys are doing great! This time I’d
like to share you guys about body shape types. There’s nothing wrong with all
these body types therefore we need to embrace what we are given for. There are
ways to flaunt your body type positively regarding of all types of body shapes.
There are various apparel industries in providing the right customers extra
choices for their preferences as well as catering them the varieties at the
same time. The various differences of female body shapes and proportions are
because of many reasons and they are nutritional changes, lifestyles and
ethnicity, which cause the changes of body shapes overtime.
Most females have the desire to have this body shape, which is the hourglass as such, this body shape is often strived for most females due to its characteristic in visualising the body to be attractive. The dissatisfied feeling of their body leads females that do not have this body shape, will have a tendency to hate their body and thinking it to be unattractive and have this condition called Body Dysmorphic Disease (BDD). However I’d like to highlight again that all body shapes are beautiful in their own ways. Nobody should ashamed of their own bodies.
As a Top Hourglass Body Type:

There are 8 major female body shapes
according to a study of over 6000 women. The major body shapes are:

Straight Body Type
2.
Pear Body Type
3.
Spoon Body Type
4.
Hourglass Body Type
5.
Top Hourglass Body Type
6.
Inverted Triangle Body Type
7.
Oval Body Type
8.
Diamond Body Type
Straight
You have the most common body type. Sometimes called rectangle or
ruler body shape.
o
Hips and bust are balanced
o
However waist is not very defined
o
Flat bottom
o
You have the tendency to gain weight in your
torso first, upper thighs & arms
o
Your lower legs are always shapely and one of
your best assets
Spoon
As a Spoon Body type (sometimes called figure 8) is quite common.
Typical characteristics of a Spoon Body Shape are:
o
Likely to have larger hips than bust
o
You have a defined waist
o
You are prone to gaining weight in your tummy and
have a tendency towards love-handles
o
While you may gain weight in your upper thighs
and upper arms, your lower legs and arms are shapely and your best assets
Hourglass
Lucky you! You have the Hourglass body type that most women strive
for. Typical characteristics of an Hourglass Body Shape are:
o
Well balanced busts & hips & have a
beautifully defined waist
o
Your have gently rounded shoulders that align
nicely with your hips
o
Your waist is obvious and gracefully curves out
to your hips
o
You most likely have a rounded bottom and beautiful
side as well as front profile
o
Your upper body is proportionate in length to
your legs which are shapely
Top Hourglass
o
You have a beautifully defined waist and bust
that is larger than your hips
o
You have gently rounded shoulders that align
nicely with your hips
o
Your waist is obvious and gracefully curves out
to your hips
o
You most likely have a rounded bottom and
beautiful side as well as front profile
o
Your upper body is proportionate in length to
your legs which are shapely
Your body type is: Inverted Triangle
You have an inverted Triangle body shape (also known as an
athletic body type). Typical characteristics:
o
You have a proportionally larger upper body
o
You have broad shoulders, and ample bust and a
wide back
o
Your hips are slim and your bottom may have a
tendency towards the flat side
o
Your waist is subtle and you have a tendency to
gain weight in the upper body
o
Your beautiful, shapely legs are your best asset
Your body type is: Oval
You have an Oval Body Shape (sometimes known as an apple body
shape). Typical Characteristics are:
o
You have a large bust, narrow hips, and a full
midsection
o
You have a tendency to gain weight in your
stomach, back and upper body
o
Your waist is undefined and the widest part of
your frame
o
You also have a full, shorter neck and full face
o
Your buttocks are somewhat flat and your legs are
slender
o
Your shapely, graceful legs are your best asset
Your body type is: Diamond
As a Diamond body type is indeed as rare as it’s name. Typical
characteristics are:
o
Your hips are broader than you bust and shoulders
o
You have a tendency to gain weight in you
stomach, back, hips and buttocks
o
Your waist is undefined and the widest part of
your frame
o
You carry some weight in your upper legs
o
Your lower legs are shapely and one of your most
attractive features
o
You have proportionately slender, shapely arms
Sadly, nowadays
the acquirement of thinness or slenderness of a body shapes is frequently is
known to be the standard appearance or consider to be accepted in a society. The
media’s frequent thin body and shape depictions, often void of other
personality attributes, reinforce an ideal standard as well as a positive thin
stereotype. The effect is afflicted merely to those who are obese or
overweight, as they are perceived as holding a grudge of their body.
The
changes of the standard body shape causes depression or self-deflating of their
own body shapes. Furthermore, BMI is no longer used as a body weight
measurement hence, unhealthy body shape is then formed and this leads to an
unhealthy obsession and this is highly prevalent to teenagers to young adults.
Having this obsession is unhealthy for the surrounding as this can cause an
